Main Attraction Wins Best Fishing Charter In Marathon Award
Every year, the local Marathon Weekly Newspaper conducts an online poll for its annual 'Best of Marathon' awards, nominating local businesses, places, and people. It’s a fun way to raise funds for the Marathon Rotary Club and get some bragging rights. This year, Main Attraction was honored to be nominated for Best Fishing Charter, and our very own Captain Marty Lewis was nominated for Best Fishing Guide. After a few weeks reminding our followers on social media to vote, and thanks to our amazing clients, family, and friends, we got an exciting call, inviting Main Attraction to [...]
Main Attraction’s North Carolina Family Getaway
While the Lewis family’s weekend in Key West last month was a quick recharge, the end of a long summer of running fishing charters called for a true family vacation. Last week, the Lewis family celebrated a monumental milestone: the 50th wedding anniversary of Main Attraction Co-Owner Katie Lewis’s parents, Fred and Marguerite Chesney. The family gathered to honor them near Asheville, North Carolina, where the Chesneys spend their summers escaping the Florida heat. First Captain Marty, his wife Katie, and their daughter Natalie flew out for the celebration. The trip was especially exciting for Natalie, as [...]

Florida Keys 2025 Mahi Season Update
As we transition into summer fishing, one species that stands out is the Dolphinfish, often referred to by its Hawaiian name, Mahi-Mahi. What makes this year especially exciting is the incredibly strong start to the season—a welcome change after several less-than-stellar Mahi seasons. It's fantastic to see, as Mahi-Mahi remains one of our most requested catches! Marathon Bull and Cow Tournament Recently, the Shaw family hired us to fish in The Marathon Bull and Cow Tournament. This two-day Mahi tournament typically takes place on the first weekend of May each year. The tournament focuses on catching [...]
2025 Marathon Premier Sailfish Tournament Recap
It is no secret that the Main Attraction fishing crews fish many tournaments yearly, but the Marathon Premier Sailfish Tournament is very near and dear to our hearts! Every year, Katie discusses ways to improve the tournament with her advisory board and her husband, Captain Marty Lewis, a seasoned tournament fishing team Captain. These changes must be well thought out and [...]
2025 Key West Sailfish Tournament
Recently, there has been a lot of talk about our good friend Brice Barr's 2nd year sailfish tournament in Key West. The Key West Sailfish Tournament is a two-day tournament held this year on Friday, March 28th, and Saturday, March 29th. Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts kept our teams from participating in the inaugural event in 2024. However, Captain Marty Lewis was determined that this year would be different, and they officially joined the lineup for the second annual tournament. As is customary, the week before any tournament, the team geared up with all the essentials. Captain [...]
The Next Generation of a Florida Keys Fishing Family
Main Attraction has some BIG News! As many of our repeat clients know, Alex Lewis has grown up around the family business. If you have fished with us before, you probably have seen Alex at the Marina helping his father Captain Marty Lewis maintain the vessels, out catching bait, or fishing on a charter. Immediately upon graduating from Marathon High School last year, Alex was determined to get his Captain's license, just as his father had. He took the online course, passed, and had plenty of sea hours. With the help of bonus Mom Katie, [...]
