We had six participants, some local and some traveled as far from North Carolina and Tennessee to join our camp. The forecast for Friday, February 7th was less than appealing, as a large front was making its way through Florida. Captain Marty spoke to all the anglers the night before and asked that they arrive at the dock at 7:30 am Friday so he could review the weather conditions and make the best judgment call. The morning started [...]

There has also been a light east current. With this condition change, our fleet immediately began to target Sailfish. Our Captains and Mates on all 4 boats have caught and released a total of 98 sailfish in the last 5 days! The top single day Sailfish catches of the week were Captain Marty Lewis and Mate Digger Rodamer with an amazing 24 on April 16th, [...]
Tuna fishing on the Marathon Hump
Tuna fishing on the Marathon Hump When customers book a Blackfin Tuna trip with Main Attraction, it means we are fueling up, catching large amounts of fresh, live bait, and heading 27 plus miles offshore to the Marathon Hump! The Hump looks like an underwater mountain causing depths to range from 1150 feet to 480 feet at its pinnacle. The Hump is roughly in the middle of the Gulfstream which means the current screams through and forces a lot of the bait upward toward the surface when it collides with the large underwater structure. For this reason, many pelagic [...]
How to find the right fishing charter for you.
How to find the right fishing charter for you. Most people are primarily driven by price when comparing one fishing charter company to another. We do understand charter fishing is not cheap and prices matter. However, when comparing your options there are different aspects you should investigate when determining value. Look at the type of vessels each company is running, the size of the vessel, and what type/size engines are they running, and how many engines are in/on the vessel. Bigger vessels and more engines mean more fuel being burnt. Bigger vessels typically mean more comfort and can handle [...]
